Note that for openings up to 89" you just use the gate panel and one of the side panels. Openings wider than 89" use all three panels. If you're using it for a pet, the panels are made of a mesh fabric that looks like a cat could make quick work of it wanted to get to the other side.You do need some "handyman" skills to install this gate, equivalent to hanging a shelf. I recommend not using the drilling template, and just position the gate on the wall and mark through the screw holes for drilling. You'll almost certainly need appropriate size screws, since the included screws will only work if you're screwing into woodwork directly. 28 of 28 people found the following review helpful The perfect gate, By Mike M. It uses a fabric mesh instead of vertical bars, which works well to keep our infant on one side. There's less for him to grab onto and pull himself up with as well.It was easy to adjust to the size I needed and easy to install. Just screw a few brackets in place and snap the gate in place. The locking gate swings open both ways. The gate also has a bracket at the bottom that connects to the bar to keep it from being pushed out at the bottom. Update: This fence is still nice, but 10 months later my (then 18 month old) son figured out how to break out of it. The mesh on the gate wraps around the metal frame and attaches with Velcro. He figured out he could essentially pull the top apart and move the mesh down and get out. Sneaky little guy! Our 9 month old has it totally figured out and the gate is now worthless. We have only had the gate a month. We bought two and combined them to make a play area. The design for that was great....just the Velcro is inferior. I am going to try to hand sew the door on to see if we can save ourselves the $200 I wasted. It also doesn't matter which side the Velcro in on, the inside or outside...she just pushes on the mesh and the Velcro pops open. Don't buy this one!Edited: I contacted the company and they sent me a replacement with the Velcro sewn shut. It now works great. I would give it a 5 star now! |
