If I could, this would be the only gate I would buy.With all that said, think before you buy! I initially bought two of these. One for the passageway into the kitchen, and one for the top of the stairs. I had to return the one for the top of the stairs because I didn't think thoroughly about the installation. This gate has you screw a bracket onto each wall. Then you just slide the gate down into the brackets. Done. I knew I would have to remove my stair rail to get the gate to slide down, but didn't think about the other side. We have a half wall that has a top plate on it, then is trimmed with molding. This is an attractive product. Once it is installed it works ok. It is satisfactory in performance.Installation is a royal pain. The gate is attached to the side walls on two rail brackets. The gate slides into the rail brackets that are secured to the walls. The gates actually DO NOT SLIDE UP OR DOWN. They are impossible to slide onto the brackets. I had to force the gate into the bracket so hard, that I tore the bracket out of the wall. I don't think it will be possible to ever actually get the gate out of the bracket again. I am a strong person and it took all my force to get it to slide on the bracket (with WD-40). When speaking with customer service, even they acknowledged that it "sticks a little". Maybe I got a bad batch. For a company that advertises the product as being able to "SLIDE" up and out. It does not. Period. It is... They look wonderful aside from the green tint in the wood (like others have mentioned). The green tint is only noticeable if the gate is in direct sunlight, and since mine are not, I decided to keep them. They however are not well thought out, when the gate is open it droops, which means when I try to close the gate I have to pick it up so that it lines up with the latch mounted on the wall, this is VERY annoying. Yes the gate is adjustable, you can slide it left or right to adjust the width, however because the intermittent notches that are built-in to "help" guide the door to the appropriate width are over an inch apart, it doesn't leave many options for various door widths. So while I was able to adjust the width to fit my doorway, that particular width didn't fall right into a notch, which means I couldn't "lock" the width in place.
