I did an online search and found tons of reviews at an online baby supply store which gave me more confidence. Amazon has the best price on the internet and as a Prime member the 2 day shipping cannot be beat. I ordered two gates to place at the top and bottom of stairs for dog control (my kids are all older now). I am glad I bought this product. It is exactly as shown and much more attractive than the white baby gates I previously had. I am amazed at how tight the pressure mounting is although I plan to buy the separate screw-in wall mounts to use at the top of the stairs. I especially like the fact that the gate automatically closes as my husband has been known to not close the gate completely and we wind up with animals where they are not supposed to be.
