I found a 5 week old kitten and had no intention to keep him, at first, especially since I already have an 8-year old cranky female cat and a 9 year old lazy male cat, and figured they're perfect little lives would be disrupted by the presence of a crazy baby cat. WELL, I fell in love with the little guy and decided to keep him. Sure enough, my cats weren't thrilled when they saw him. For two reasons, I thought it best to separate the kitten from the cats for a while:(1) Need to get the kitten medically cleared, as I'd found him in the street, and (2) Because he was so tiny, didn't want the big cats to hurt him even if they did get along right away (3) Get the big cats used to the smell of the kitten in the house.
